Brian Maneely is a photographer based in Eugene, Oregon. After his father handed him a camera at a young age, he became addicted. He began displaying his art at galleries in his early 20’s, and jumpstarted his professional career in 2011 when he became the Chief Photographer at the Ukiah Daily Journal in California. In 2013 began his freelance career focusing on photography, videography, video editing, and graphic design. Since then he’s shot festivals, weddings, portraits, and real estate and commercial work.
When not behind the camera, he tends to find himself in front of it performing on stage either in musical theatre, or as a circus artist. He’s performed in four-countries over the course of 10-years and has helped in every facet of production from choreography, to lighting, to sound design.
In 2017, he teamed up with a group of local analog photographers to form the Eugene Darkroom Group, a non-profit organization that runs a community darkroom space on the west-end of Eugene at the Maude Kerns Art Center.
Over the course of his career his work has been published in Petapixel, Shutterbug, Fire Arts Magazine, DIY Photography, The Ukiah Daily Journal, abc7 News (San Francisco), The Maritime, and The Willits News.
